Marco Antonio Lavariega Sánchez

Is an archaeologist with experience collaborating on multiple INAH-sponsored research projects revealing and protecting the cultural heritage of Mexico City and its surroundings; public administration in the area of cultural and educational rights; and leadership for initiatives promoting the local and international participation of researchers and cultural agents to disseminate cultural and historical knowledge through public and tourist networks.  Through his work in Texcoco and environs, he has become a specialist on Tezcotzingo’s historical design and significance to the broader culture of pre-Colombian Mexico. He has been part of VERDMX since 2022, playing an instrumental role in inspiring and envisioning the Tezcotzingo exhibition.
